Upendo Gidson

May 2024- Baby Upendo came to Neema at a month old weighing 2.7kg (6lbs). She was born April 12, 2024. Her parents are both alcoholics. They were not taking care of Upendo properly and the neighbors notified the police. They then reached out to social welfare, who then called Neema Village. We went to pick up little Upendo, and another baby (Gift), from the social welfare office. Upendo is doing well, her name means “love” in Swahili. We will love and care for this sweet girl until her forever family comes for her. Please pray for her future and that her parents can get the help they need. Please consider sponsoring her while she is here at Neema. Go to www.neemavillage.org to find out how, thank you!

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
