Shadrack

Shadrack was born January 26, 2023.  He came to Neema weighing a healthy 4.4kg (9.7 lbs.).  We received a call from social welfare that a mother was at the police station to give up her baby.  Angel, Neema’s social worker felt there was more to the story so she brought the baby, the mama and the mother’s friend back to Neema to see how we could help.  When we asked the mother why she wanted to abandon her baby, she looked blankly ahead and said, “Life is too hard.  I can’t go on”.  (mama has the sickness).  All alone and scared she could see no way forward.  We could tell she loved her baby because at three months he was well cared for.  In desperation we told her we would help feed her, find a place for her to live, and start a business so she could keep Shadrack.  She flatly stated no.  She neither cried nor looked again at her precious baby before walking out the door.  Without hope life is a broken winged bird.  Neema Village will stand in the gap for his mother.  Shadrack will be loved and cared for until a forever family is found or his mother returns.  Please consider sponsoring handsome Shadrack while he is with us.  Go to www.meemavillage.org to find out more.  Thank you!

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
