Salepu

Salepu came to Neema today, he was born January 11, 2022 and is a healthy 5.4 lbs. (2.45 kg). His mother was sixteen years old and this was her second child, the first one barely walking. She sadly hemorrhaged to death due to retained placenta. Her Maasai village is unable to care for the baby. They knew about Neema through a friend in another village who had been through the Save the Mothers program at Neema. It happened to be a Grandmother of one of the children we have here at Neema now (Bibi Joyce). So Selepu was brought to Neema by his father, step grandmother and grandmother Joyce(Maasai birther). We are not sure what the future holds for little Salepu but we know God is already making a way. We will care for him till his forever family is ready.
Please consider helping us care for this little one while he is here. Please go to www.neemavillage.org to find out more about sponsorship and the Save the Mothers program. Thank you!

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
