Rose

Rose is the fifth baby to arrive at Neema in December.  We believe she is about one month old and was born prematurely weighing 1.2kg (2.6lbs).  When weighed at Neema she had doubled her weight and is 2.15kg (4.7lbs).  She was brought to us today by her father, auntie and social worker from Maternity Africa.  Mom is 19 years old and the third wife.  She is struggling with mental issues.  The social worker is going to work with her to get her help.  Hopefully mom and baby can be reunited at some point in the future.  Rose is beautiful, has eaten and is sleeping peacefully.  Please consider helping Rose while she is here with us at Neema.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
