Matilda Grace Mollel

Little Matilda Grace was born March 16, 2014. In a story we received from a midwife at the hospital, the mother asked to leave the room for a moment and never returned. A nurse took the tiny 2.5 kg baby home then after a week brought the baby to Neema. The baby is being loved and cuddled by everyone at Neema. We feel for these mothers who think they have no other choice than to walk away from their babies.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
