The precious baby was born on June 9th, 2016 and is a twin to baby Mercy. Mary and Mercy came to Neema after the death of their mother. Mary has been in the hospital until she could gain enough weight to come home to Neema. Her grandmother was struggling to care for the little twins in the hospital but unfortunately could not continue. Caring for abandoned, orphaned and at risk babies at our rescue center in Arusha is very expensive and costs around $300 per month to keep a baby at Neema. We have cared for 113 babies at Neema since opening in 2012. Many orphanages will not take babies due to the need for around the clock full staff care. Neema has 42 full time Tanzanians employees.
