Now in boarding School with her sister, August 2021.

Little Lucy came to Neema Village on March 9th.  She was born  Feb 26th in the hospital by c-section. The following day the mother began feeling bad and told the nurse but sadly she passed away.  Grandmother came with the baby to Neema.  She loves this baby very much but feels she is too old to take care of such a small baby.  It was very sad for this grandmother who had just lost her daughter and now must leave her granddaughter.  We will take good care of this little one for you Bibi until her father remarries or you can take her home.  It is always Neema’s hope to return these little ones to the family as soon as possible at least by age two.  Please help us care for baby Lucy, our third Lucy, until she can safely return home.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
