Deuce and Denice

Deuce and Denice are twenty months old. They were born November 5, 2024. These precious twin boys came to Neema Village after concerned friends stepped in to help when they discovered the difficult circumstances they were living in. Joanna, a friend of Shanna from Northbound who frequently visits Arusha, had been trying to support their mother by providing nutritious food and encouragement after seeing that the boys were severely malnourished.
As she became more involved, it became clear that the twins were not safe. Their mother was leaving them alone through the night, and she eventually shared that she no longer wanted to care for them and planned to abandon them. Wanting to protect the boys, Joanna contacted Shanna, who then reached out to Neema Village.
Our social worker worked with local authorities and the Social Welfare office to ensure everything was handled properly. Their mother and a local woman who had been helping the family brought the boys to us.
Our prayer is that their mother will receive the help she needs, experience healing and restoration, and one day be able to provide a safe and loving home for her sons. Until then, these sweet boys are receiving the nourishment, medical care, and unconditional love they deserve.
Please consider sponsoring these boys while they are with us. Contact Hayden at sponsorship@neemavillage.org, thank you!

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
