This precious baby was abandoned at the hospital after her birth. Desperate and poor mothers who come into the hospital, have their baby and then walk out is a very common occurrence here in Africa. I’m sure they are hoping their babies will find a family that can take care of them. In a country where many families never see any money and the average family income is less than $100 per month, surely they are hoping for a better future for their babies. That is what happened for Carolina. A Tanzanian family came to Neema and was able to meet all the Social Welfare guidelines and Caroline went to her new home. She is our first successful adoption!

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
