Briella

We received another call from social welfare. A baby girl had been abandoned in a mosque. We think she is about 2 weeks old. She weighs 3.6 kg (8 lbs)
Bri,our longterm volunteer here to help with our special needs babies and help our volunteer coordinator has been praying about naming a baby. When she arrived with our social worker to pick her up, social welfare had named her Briella. There were definitely some tears shed. Briella’s mama loves her; we can tell by the way she has been taken care of. She must have been so desperate to lay her baby down in a place she knew she would be safe. We cannot imagine the sadness she must be feeling. It’s not our place to judge. We are called to love and hope that her mama will get the help she needs so that she can be reunited with her baby. Until then we will love her and take care of her.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27 (NIV)
