Baraka and Neema

Baraka and Neema
August 2025- A sad night at Neema as two newborns arrive by ambulance, an even sadder night out in a Maasai hut as nine children mourn the death of their mother. She had had a c-section out in a remote hospital and when they couldn’t get the bleeding stopped they tried to get her in to the big hospital in town. She died on the way. The twins are healthy but tiny. Baby Baraka weighs 2.07 kg and baby girl Neema weighs 1.2kg. We are all crying tonight for this mom who fought to survive for her babies. The babies are doing well, they are in the isolation room at Neema. They are on a feeding schedule and getting lots of cuddles. Please consider sponsoring them while they are here. Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
