Bahati Maritete Ndakaata

Three day old Bahati came to Neema House on Friday, January 4, 2013. His mother hemorrhaged and bled to death at the birth and the baby had to make a six hour journey to get to Neema House. Out in the village it is almost a sure death sentence for the baby when the mother dies, and one in every 39 women die of complications from pregnancy and childbirth in Tanzania. Surely we can do something about this.

Neema House has plans to begin a Mothering Center as soon as possible. For now can you please sponsor this little boy? He has partial sponsorship.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
