Veronica

Veronica lives with her mom but has been coming to classes at Neema.  On Sunday afternoons our volunteers go out to one of the poorer areas of Arusha.  They walk around, giving candy to the children who follow them and then hand out a few envelopes with some shillings to bless new moms.  They went to Veronica’s mom’s house since Veronica had a new baby, her fifth child.  The volunteers could see she needed help and asked Anna, the Neema MAP director, later to please go and see how we could help.  Veronica has done well and Neema will be setting her up in a used clothing business.  When you help these moms you not only change their world you change ours.  We have come to see that the women of Tanzania are not the problem here, they are the solution.  Bless you for giving them a hand up!

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
