Sophia (Mama Martin) Sophia is 24 years old with a 2 year old handicap child named Martin. Martin is disabled and when the father saw this he abandoned the family. She had no income so began getting up at 3am in the morning to make mandazi (like a breakfast donut) to sell to have money for their food. We rented a small shop down the hill from Neema in a busy district. We are supplying her with ingredients to cook, her shop is named “Sophia’s MaPocho Pocho” or a little of everything. She usually sells about 100 mandazi and 100 samosas per day. She is also now making lunch of rice and beans and dinner of chips and eggs. She is doing really well and now wants to expand to bake birthday cakes and wedding cakes. She is a true entrepreneur and on her own walked to a small medical clinic not far from her shop and asked them if she could supply food to the medical workers. Her business cost $500
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
