Neema Maasai Mom

A new MAP business is born! Her name is Neema (yes just like our home) she is Maasai and 32 years old. We met her on a medical mission and brought her and her little special needs baby in to Neema Village to our Rehabiltative Daycare. Napendael, the director, has been working with her for two months at the daycare. Neema is now ready to return to the village and her family. Her husband is mentally unsound and cannot help her. She has other children and is the sole support for her family. We will set her up in a small shop selling sugar, rice, beans, and cooking oil. She will do very well. She didn’t have any shoes so we found a pair for her. That really made her smile. Her business along with 6 months food for the family will cost $452. USD. “When you lift a woman in Africa you not only change her world, you change ours.”

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
