Mary -Successfully Completed

This young 18 year old girl was homeless and had newborn twins when she was brought to Neema Village.  She had been living with a woman who was trying to help her but when the twin boys were born she could no longer keep the little family.  Mary, the young mother, was going to abandon the little babies.  Instead they were brought to Neema Village where the mother and babies stayed together in one of our MAP rooms.  Mary will now be able to keep her boys after Neema sets her up with a vegetable stand.  The boys will be going home with her very soon.  Mary has been attending sewing classes at Neema and is a good semestress.  We gave her a sewing machine.  We think she will do very well with her vegetable business now and will be a good mother for the boys.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
