Martha

Martha is a 46 year old widow with three girls, ages 4, 9 and 10.  Her husband passed away in 2012 and she has been struggling to make a living for the family on her own since then.  When she came to Neema Village she was behind in the rent and had no food.  By God’s Grace Neema Village was able to set Martha up in a vegetable stand business.  Last year Martha began to have trouble with her eyes and we took her to Moshi to the Eye clinic there.  She was diagnosed with cataracts and we have helped her have her first eye surgery.  Hopefully she will be able to see to run her business now and take care of the girls.  It is amazing to see these women come from nothing and then begin to have hope that they can make it.  Thank you God.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
