MARIA MARCO’S STORY

Maria Marco is a 19yrs old, she has a 5 day old baby girl. Maria has 10 children in her family. Her mother is still alive, but her father passed away many years ago, Maria does not remember anything about her father.

Her mother was left alone struggling to take care of ten kids on her own in one of the remote villages in Karatu.

Because of her family’s situation, she and her younger brother were brought to Arusha town and put in an orphanage where they were raised.   The orphanage was closed recently by the government

Maria was taken to another orphanage where they take care of young girls. She was pregnant. People from the new centre and from social welfare came to Neema Village and asked us to take her in for a month because the centre is closed for Christmas and New year’s holidays.

She has a certificate in hotel management, and she will continue with her studies after she recovers from child birth.

Neema is always glad to step in to help.  Maria will receive some special training in computers, English, business and Bible while she stays at Neema.
