Mama Ezekiel

Mama Ezekiel:

Mama Ezekiel was already an entrepreneur when she came to our attention. She was making and selling pombe, a local corn brew that is very strong. She was doing the only thing she knew how to make enough to feed her children, but it was putting her and her children in a dangerous situation. She would often have drunk men causing trouble around her home as a result of her business. Mama Ezekiel has four children, the youngest was damaged during birth and the resulting handicap was the reason that her husband abandoned her. The local Commissioner brought her to our attention because he was so concerned about the family’s safety. We have now moved the family to a safer location and got her set up in a brand new business, a vegetable stand. Her entrepreneurial spirit continues but now the family is much safer and happier!
