Lightness

Lightness

Lightness has three children, twins and a one year old baby girl. When she had her youngest, the father left her. The twins have a different father, so when Lightness was abandoned she returned to the twin’s father’s family and they were willing to help her by taking care of the twins. Still alone with a new baby, Lightness turned to her sister for help. The sister agreed to allow her to stay with her for a little while, but Lightness quickly realized it was a dangerous living situation since her sister was selling alcohol and marijuana from her home. Lightness heard about the MAP program and came seeking help. We have been able to move her to a much safer living situation, and she will be set up in a vegetable stand business.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
