Jackline
Through no fault of her own, Jackline was born with the sickness that has afflicted so many Africans today. Her parents died before she could finish seventh grade and she was shuffled around to different family members who did not treat her well because of the sickness.
When she was 20 years old, she went to work in construction where she met and married a man. After a few months she became pregnant and the man told her he had found a good job opportunity in another town and would send money. He left and Jackline has never heard from him again.
She went into labor at 7 months and the baby was born with a lot of problems and she was left with a large hospital bill. Trying to work and find child care was very hard for her. She found a day care that would take the baby but when they saw how malnourished the baby was, they called Social Welfare. Social Welfare called to see if Neema Village could help this mother and child through our MAP program.
Jackline and her son Jayden are now living in our MAP apartments and has started taking her medicine again. She is in counseling and taking all the classes that Neema offers. She is beginning to feel hopeful about her life again and wants someday to open a small store selling food products.
Please be praying for this young mother who, against all odds and with no help, has fought to keep her baby and tried to make a living for herself and her baby. These MAP moms are truly amazing women.
