Imaculata

This is Imaculata, she is 29 years old, she has two kids,

She was raised with her grandma because her mother died when she was six months old, her dad died in a prison.

Her mother was killed by her father, that is why he was sent to prison and died there,

Imaculata didn’t see her parents, only her grandmother.  When she was 15 years old, she moved to town and started to work as house girl, that is where she got pregnant, but the man ran away from her and he didn’t accept that the pregnancy as his.  Imaculata moved and started living with friends, she found another man and thought that she would marry him but the man ran away too.   Now she is so sorry and down and worrying about going back to her grandma with two kids because her grandmother is very poor.

We visited with Imaculatta with some volunteers, and decided to put her in a MAP program.  She will be doing a used clothing business.

When we bring a new woman into the MAP program, they attend many classes that will better their lives, bookkeeping, sewing, reading and writing, computer and Bible classes.  They also find a support group with other women who encourage them to believe that with God’s help they can change their lives.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
