Glory

Glory’s husband abandoned her after she became pregnant.  She tried to find work but was desperate and began living on the street.  She decided to return to her mom who is very poor.  When it was time for the baby her mother took her to the hospital and paid the bill for the birth.  That put the little household in trouble and when they could not pay the rent the landlord kicked them out.  They had been moving around and staying with friends when Glory heard about Neema Village.  She has been at Neema five months now and is ready to start a business.  She has become a good seamstress but says she wants to open an MPesa business which would make more money.  She says she wants to make enough to take care of her mom.  I like that.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
