Eva (2)

Eva is 24 years old with 2 kids. While living in Dar Es Salam, she became pregnant with her first child. The man did not accept her pregnancy and left. Eva knew her mom wouldn’t be happy, so she hid the pregnancy, as she was then living with her mom and stepfather. When the family found out she was kicked out. Eva moved in with a friend. She washed clothes and dishes for work in order to feed herself and her child. Eva became pregnant with her second child.  Her friend did not accept this and asked her to leave. She rented a small, very inexpensive room to live by herself. She went into labor and gave birth all alone. Eva did not know if she was going to live or die. She asked her five-year-old son to see if he could get someone, but he could not help. She shouted for help and a young girl came in. Eva asked her to find an adult that could help. The young girl brought two women that helped Eva the best they could. Anna, Neema’s MAP Director, was walking along the road and she came across these two hurried and panicked women, trying to find something to cut the umbilical cord. Anna then followed them back to where she found Eva. Mom and baby were very weak, so Anna rushed to get a car and take them to the hospital. For now, she is at Neema in the MAP apartments and receiving help for her children. She will begin counseling and meet with the other MAP moms. We will talk about a business for her in the future. You can support these MAP (Mothers Against Poverty) moms by donating to the MAP program at Neema Village.

Eva has done very well at Neema in classes and is ready to start her business and she has chosen to do a small food business, cooking rice and beans and samosas.  These women are not looking for a hand out, they are looking for a hand up.  Eva has a chance to make it now please be praying for her.

When you leave this earth you can take nothing you have received, only what you have given.
