Ester

Ester is 17 years old. Her baby Elissa is 6 months old.  Ester became pregnant at a young age but she did not want to tell anyone who the father of the baby is. Maybe she is protecting him, maybe she is scared. We hope she will tell us one day. After she delivered the baby Ester was brought to Neema Village by the Social Welfare workers. She was fed and accommodated in the MAP house for three months. After this time she was willing to work, so she is now in her own rented room and is supported by the MAP program. Her business is selling vegetables so her baby can be with her while she works which Is good. We hope she can continue her studies at QT – studying at home at night.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
