Elizabeth

Elizabeth is 24 years old and has three kids.  She was raised by her grandmother after her mother abandoned her.  When she was 19 she married and later had three kids. The family was renting one room but could not pay the rent so the landlord took all of their possessions except one mattress.  Then to make matters worse her husband abandoned the family.  The first time we met Elizabeth she could not stop crying.  She had totally lost all hope and had no one to help her since her older brother had passed away the year before and her grandmother was getting very old..  As so many of our MAP moms she felt alone in the world.  Neema Village after interviewing her decided to help and started her in a vegetable stand business.   Now she feels like she can support her children and her grandmother.  She has hope and joy and has become more confident.  Hope is an amazing thing!

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
