Bibi Janet

This happy grandmother and granddaughter were struggling to have enough money to eat when Anna, our MAP Director took Kelle Samsill and her group of students visiting Neema Village out to see how they could help.  Social Welfare had asked that we see what could be done to help this por grandmother.  Bibi Janet didn’t have enough food but didn’t want just a handout, she wanted to be able to support herself and her tiny special needs eighteen year old granddaughter Janet.  Neema will set Bibi Janet up in a goat business with two male goats and four female goats.  This should be the perfect business for her since goats take very little care but produce quickly and sell for good prices.  One goat can be purchased for 150,000 TSH or about $75 USD.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
