Tony Innocent Fortson

Baby Tony Rector was born Aug 16, 2016. He was abandoned outside the hospital after his mother asked someone to hold the baby while she went to the store. She never returned and Social Welfare asked that Neema come pick up the baby. He is a healthy little boy and will be loved and cared for at Neema until a forever family can be found to adopt him. All adoptions are handled through Arusha’s Social Welfare department. Neema does not charge or accept money for adoptions or referrals. Tanzania law states you must reside in Tanzania 3 years before you can adopt a child.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
