Malikia Pussindawa Mollel

Malikia is a Masai twin to Julius who is also at Neema House and she is blind. The doctors tell us there is nothing that can be done. Life in a Masai village is very hard for little girls but especially so for one who is blind and one whose mother has died. She is so precious, cuddles up under your chin, and yet knows how to demand her bottle. Without Neema House chances of her surviving are very slim.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
