Asha Bella Juma Kalembo

This sweet little newborn lost her mother during childbirth. Her father is disabled and not able to care for the baby. After Asha is stable she may be able to return home. The average Tanzanian family makes less than $100 per month so formula, electricity, medical care and high costs of caring for a newborn who has lost their mother is very expensive. The death rate of babies who lose their mothers in Africa is nine in ten. So many of these little motherless ones will not survive especially out in the villages. You can help us care for these precious babies. Go to How to Help to set up a monthly sponsorship of Asha.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
