Amina (Mama Angel)

Mama Angel (or Amina) has a daughter named Angel, who is three years old. Mama Angel deals with “the sickness.” Sadly, she too was abandoned by her husband. Her daughter, Angel, lived at Neema for a short while. Now she is able to live with her mother, who started a business with Neema’s help selling African fabrics in May of 2019. She is living in the MAP housing and receives support for food. It is so good to have these women developing community in the MAP housing, so that they can develop some relationships and also have easy access to the MAP classes at Neema Village.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.
